fotd – Da Bling June 3, 2009

 

normally i would use MAC’s Da Bling as a lid color, but i decided to do something different and used it in the crease and upper crease.  i actually like the way this turned out.  that’s what i love about makeup…once in a while you try something different and it works; other times…..well that’s a whole other story for another time.  Check it out (oh and i apologize for how shiny my face is…i didn’t get to take pics until the afternoon):

recently the fiance and i were going thru a lot of cd’s that we own and i ran across Lil’ Kim’s Notorious K.I.M cd.  this was when she was really going through her Malibu Barbie phase.  believe it or not i actually got a little inspiration from the photos in the liner notes of the cd.  so i decided to pull out the heatherette trio 1 because i haven’t used it in a long time.  i’ve used individual colors from this trio with other looks, but i don’t think i’ve used all the colors from this trio in one look since i got it. and it was perfect for the look i was going for:

MAC Style Warrior Collection May 26, 2009

over the 3-day weekend i took the time to go to Nordtsroms to pick a few things from this collection.  i was really excited when i first heard about the collection…and i must admit MAC has done a great job with the collection.  the packaging is TO DIE…love, love, love the zebra and leopard print. i only picked up a few things, but i’m sure i’ll go back and pick up a few more items from this collection.

fotd – the lighter side of things May 20, 2009

i’ve used MAC’s Ricepaper a lot as a brow highlight but never as a lid color.  so today, i did another neutral look…i know it’s probably boring you guys, but it’s just the mood that i’ve been in.  i actually like the way the look turned out…for a minute i thought it was going to be a little too light of a color, but once i added Stila Twig onto my outer crease color i think it made Ricepaper look less stark.

 

ooh yeah….over the weekend i took my sew-in out, so i’m back to wearing my afro puff.  most people think that puff is my real hair…but it isn’t.  my hair grew a lot in the 3 months i had my sew-in and i’m getting there.  i still have some perm on the ends and i’m really not comfortable with the length i’ll have when i cut my straight ends off…so in a couple of weeks i’m getting my sew-in done again.  i think after that i will be at the length that i’m trying to achieve and 100% natural.
